You should not rely on this information as a substitute for professional advice from a qualified attorney, certified public accountant (CPA), enrolled agent, or licensed tax professional.
Not Legal or Tax Advice
TaxDelete is a document preparation service only. We are NOT a law firm, CPA firm, enrolled agent, or tax resolution company. Nothing on this website or in our services creates an attorney-client relationship, accountant-client relationship, or any professional advisory relationship. Our service is limited to helping you complete IRS Form 433-F or 433-A based on information you provide.
Any questions regarding the legal implications of your tax situation, tax strategies, or advice specific to your circumstances should be directed to a licensed attorney, CPA, or enrolled agent who can provide professional counsel tailored to your individual situation.
No IRS Affiliation
TaxDelete is a private company and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or any other government agency. We are an independent service provider. The IRS does not endorse or approve third-party service providers.
All IRS forms, publications, and information are available free of charge directly from the IRS at www.irs.gov or by calling the IRS. You are not required to use TaxDelete or any other private service to apply for Currently Not Collectible status. Our service is designed to simplify the application process and provide guidance, but you may complete and submit IRS forms on your own without charge.
No Guarantee of Results
TaxDelete makes no guarantee, warranty, or representation regarding the outcome of your application for IRS Currently Not Collectible (CNC) status. Approval of CNC status is entirely within the discretion of the Internal Revenue Service and depends on numerous factors including your financial circumstances, income, expenses, assets, compliance history, and IRS policies.
We cannot and do not guarantee that:
- You will qualify for CNC status
- The IRS will approve your CNC application
- The IRS will respond to your application within any specific timeframe
- CNC status, if granted, will remain in effect for any particular duration
- You will save any specific amount of money
- IRS collection actions will cease immediately upon application submission
- Future tax refunds will not be offset against your outstanding debt
Past performance, approval rates, or testimonials do not guarantee future results. Every taxpayer's situation is unique, and outcomes vary based on individual circumstances.
Accuracy of Information
While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, TaxDelete makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information on our website or in our services. User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all information you provide to TaxDelete and the IRS. You must ensure that all financial information, income details, expense amounts, and other data you submit are truthful and accurate. Providing false, misleading, or inaccurate information to the IRS can result in serious consequences, including criminal prosecution for tax fraud.
You are responsible for reviewing all documents we prepare before submission to the IRS. By submitting documents to the IRS, you certify under penalty of perjury that the information is true, correct, and complete to the best of your knowledge. TaxDelete is not responsible for any consequences resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information you provide.
CNC Status Limitations
Currently Not Collectible (CNC) status is a temporary suspension of IRS collection activities. It does NOT:
- Eliminate, reduce, forgive, or discharge your tax debt
- Stop interest from accruing on your outstanding balance
- Prevent the IRS from filing federal tax liens
- Prevent the IRS from offsetting future tax refunds
- Guarantee permanent relief from IRS collections
- Remove existing tax liens from your credit report
- Prevent state tax agencies from pursuing collection actions for state tax debt
CNC status can be terminated at any time if the IRS determines your financial situation has improved or if you fail to remain compliant with filing and payment requirements. Upon termination, the IRS may resume all collection activities, including levies and garnishments.
Financial Considerations
CNC status may not be the best solution for every taxpayer. In some cases, the IRS offset of future tax refunds may exceed the benefit of avoiding monthly payments. Additionally, because interest continues to accrue while in CNC status, your total debt will increase over time.
Alternative options such as Installment Agreements, Offer in Compromise, Penalty Abatement, or other IRS resolution programs may be more beneficial depending on your circumstances. We strongly recommend consulting with a licensed tax professional, CPA, or tax attorney to evaluate all available options before deciding on the best course of action.
Compliance Requirements
To qualify for and maintain CNC status, you must be fully compliant with IRS filing and payment requirements. This includes:
- Filing all required past-due tax returns before CNC status can be granted
- Filing all future tax returns on time
- Paying all future taxes in full and on time (or arranging proper withholding or estimated tax payments)
- Not incurring new tax debt
- Responding promptly to IRS requests for financial updates
If you have unfiled tax returns, TaxDelete cannot assist you directly. We recommend using our sister company, ReliefPlan.com, or working with a licensed tax professional to bring your filings current before applying for CNC status. Learn more in our Help Center.
Collection Statute Expiration Date (CSED)
The IRS generally has 10 years from the date of assessment to collect tax debt. This 10-year period is called the Collection Statute Expiration Date (CSED). While CNC status does not typically extend the CSED, certain actions can toll (pause) or extend the collection period, including filing for bankruptcy, submitting an Offer in Compromise, requesting a Collection Due Process hearing, or living outside the United States.
You should consult with a tax professional to understand your specific CSED and whether CNC status or other resolution options are strategically appropriate for your situation. TaxDelete does not provide advice or analysis regarding CSED or tax collection strategy.

Professional Advice Recommended
Given the complexity of tax law and the serious consequences of tax debt, we strongly recommend consulting with a licensed tax attorney, CPA, or enrolled agent before making any decisions about your tax situation. A qualified professional can review your specific circumstances, explain your options, and help you determine the best strategy for resolving your tax issues.
